Have You Googled Yourself Lately? Part 2: One Month Later

Remember from last month, I took the time out to go over my Internet Presence. What would happen if I googled my own name? I pulled up the results and displayed the first 5 pages of what showed up under my name “Anthoney Grigsby”. Admittedly, there were a couple of search results, I could have lived without so I spent the past month doing all that I could to alter my search results to provide the results I could acquire.

ONE MONTH LATER

After only one month, I made some significant changes to my Internet presence. By actively promoting and running my blog and networking with other blogs and businesses, that alone increased my Internet Presence. More of the information that I want for people to see is now listed on top as opposed to the information I did not want them to see. This month, let’s take a look at the results when you Google “Anthoney Grigsby” as of April 30, 2008 (Duplicates & Unknowns have been removed):

• (Profile) Anthoney Grigsby Profile & Portfolio SocialPicks - Social Picks is really doing a good job holding on to that number 1 spot. I’ve purposely have not even been active on this site for it to hold the number 1 spot. I don’t want to delete this profile, but this may be one extreme I may have to take.
• (Temp Website) AnthoneyGrigsby.com | Facebook - Over the past month, I reserved the domain name AnthoneyGrigsby.com, and while I work on the website, I had the domain name point towards my facebook fan page.
• (Main Site) Personal Financial Journey - HelpMyCashGrow.com by Anthoney Grigsby - HelpMyCashGrow.com, my main site, has moved to Number 2. Great job. Last month this was on page 3!
• (Profile) Anthoney Grigsby | Facebook - I’m very active on Facebook. I have hundreds of friends and I like to comment and speak with a great deal of others that follow my same niche. That’s a great explanation as to why this is at the top of the list.
• (Article Marketing) Anthoney Grigsby - EzineArticles.com Expert Author - I will be speaking on the power of Article Marketing in a bit. For now, EzineArticles.com has really made an impression on internet presence.
• (Profile) Anthoney Grigsby FriendFeed - My facebook page is automatically updated everyday when I make blog posts, digg sites, and more. With this consistent activity, this site quickly moved its way up to the Top Ten.
• (Profile) Digg / helpmycashgrow - I’m signed up to almost every online bookmarking site, but Digg is by far my favorite.
• (Article Marketing) Anthoney Grigsby - Authors Articles ArticlesBase.com - Every Saturday, I submit one of my blog posts to several article marketing sites. Now I have been watching my Google Internet Presence throughout the month and I noticed that ArticleBase.com and EzineArticles.com usually fight for the top spot.
• (Technorati Profile) Personal Financial Journey - HelpMyCashGrow.com by Anthoney … - - This is my Technorati Profile. Only recently, I’ve become more active in Technorati. So we’ll see how much this advances. Though it’s already at the number 5 spot. I don’t know how much higher I would want it.
• (Profile) LinkedIn: Anthoney Grigsby I’m not very active here, but I need to be. It still however solidified the number 10 spot!

Social Networking, Profiles, Article Marketing, and Comments, really helped provide a better organization among the web. My site is now on the first page but for some reason, Social Picks is still at the very top. I’m considering deleting/canceling the profile. Remember from last month where I had that unwanted article/link? It’s gone. By actively building on my presence through active Internet use and social networking I have rid myself of unwanted articles and have articles that I do want to see. Now my name not only promotes myself, but it also promotes HelpMyCashGrow.com.

GOALS FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS
The next report won’t be displayed for two months from now, and I’ll make my final entry. And I actually do not have any goals for the next two months. I’ve accomplished what I’ve wanted within only one month of being active, running my business, and promoting what I want to be seen. No unwanted articles are listed, there are a few unknown links and unreferenced links, I do like the results I get. When it comes down to it, if you searched my name, the first five pages (according to Google, that is) will tell you who I am, what I do, and why I love doing. One month, that’s really all it takes, sometimes even less than that. But I’m going to keep along with the progress and see what I can create and will present any new ideas and results in my final post.
